The City of Toronto is re-starting the streetscape improvements on College Street West between Shaw Street and Havelock Street on June 19, 2017. This year the City has retained CRCE Construction Limited to complete the streetscape improvements.

The remaining work includes the installation of new sidewalks, parkettes, bike rings, tree plantings and light fixtures. Work is expected to begin on the south side of College Street at Rusholme Road moving east towards Dovercourt Road.

Parks, Forestry and Recreation currently has 7 Enhanced Youth Spaces across the city, one of which is in Ward 19 at Native Child and Family Services (655 Bloor Street West).

These positive and supervised spaces are open to youth 5 – 6 days a week and include a range of amenities such as WiFi, couches, TVs, gaming consoles, foosball tables, pool tables, computers, recording studios, photography labs, and study spaces.
