Dear Neighbours,

The process to re-envision the playground area in Fred Hamilton Park continues, as I work with park users and the Friends of Roxton Road Parks to identify improvements.

My office has put together a survey to give residents a chance to provide their feedback on potential layouts for an improved park. The survey is designed to gauge interest in general changes based on ideas generated by your neighbours.

You can find the survey here.

The priorities for the park as articulated by the process so far include the potential addition of nature and adventure play opportunities, enhanced water play, ball sports, improved water fountain, improved play structures, and art in the park.

After the survey is closed, I will collect the results and report back to those who participated in the survey. I will then request that the City take steps toward assigning a project co-ordinator who will oversee the hiring of a consultant to put your vision for a better playground into motion. Funding will likely be allocated in the 2019 Budget for design, with an early 2020 construction date.

The public consultation remains ongoing. No decisions about use of the space have been finalized.

If you have any questions, or would like to add any additional feedback, please contact Marco Bianchi in my office at marco.bianchi@toronto.ca or by phone at 416-392-4009.
