College Street from Shaw Street to Havelock Street will be reduced to one lane in each direction from June 19 to October 13 for the reconstruction of sidewalks and streetscaping.

Work will start on the south side of College Street at Rusholme Road and move eastward to Dovercourt Road. Streetscaping improvements will include parkettes as well as new tree plantings, street lighting and bike rings.

Work on the project will take place from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday to Friday, with some work occurring after hours and on weekends to shorten the duration of the project and help minimize disruption to the public.

For safety reasons, there will be road and sidewalk restrictions within the construction area. A special walking lane with access to businesses will be made available for pedestrians.

To accommodate this project, a shuttle bus service will replace streetcars on College Street between Bathurst Street and Dundas Street. TTC route diversion information will be available at ttc.ca.

The City has a web-based map to help residents and visitors make their travel plans, available at toronto.ca/roadrestrictions. Information about the City’s planned capital construction work is available at toronto.ca/inview.

This work is part of the City’s comprehensive, co-ordinated strategy to rehabilitate and upgrade our roads, transit and underground infrastructure for current and future needs.
